Bahia team player arrested on suspicion of attacking his girlfriend

A football player was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend in the Jardim das Margaridas neighborhood, in Salvador. The information was released this Monday (25) by the Civil Police.

Alison Daniel Marques RIbeiro, striker for Esporte Clube Jacuipense, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and committing psychological violence this Saturday (23). According to the police, the 26-year-old athlete physically and psychologically attacked his partner and also damaged her electronic device.

The incident was attended to by the Military Police who, upon arriving at the scene, arrested and directed Alison to a specialized police unit.

Jacuipense published an official note about what happened on its social networks. In the statement, the club informed that it is monitoring the investigation of the facts together with the competent authorities.

" Esporte Clube Jacuipense informs that it became aware, even unofficially, through information disseminated by members of the press and competent bodies, about the arrest of athlete Alison Daniel, due to accusations related to the alleged practice of domestic violence. The Club closely monitors the development of the facts and awaits the due investigation by the competent authorities, respecting the constitutional principles of contradictory, broad defense and due legal process. Jacuipense reaffirms its institutional commitment to ethics, social responsibility and respect for human dignity, firmly and vehemently repudiating any type of violence, especially violence against women and domestic violence. The Club will continue to monitor the case and, after completing the investigation and analysis of the relevant elements, will adopt any appropriate measures".
