Federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP), original author of the PEC that proposes the end of the 6×1 scale, stated that she is vigilant in the face of possible attempts to change the text of the proposal. In a statement compiled by Tainá Falcão, on Backstage CNN, she said she was "happy to see the proposal move forward", but "very attentive to all the possible maneuvers that the center and the right may want to do to harm the text and the workers".

The PEC gained new momentum after negotiations that resulted in a report to be presented by Leo Prates (Republicanos-BA). Among the central points of the proposal are the reduction of weekly working hours from 44 to 40 hours, the guarantee of two days of rest and the maintenance of salaries without any reduction. These are the pillars that, according to CNN, will guide the construction of the convergence text.

One of the main points of divergence is the transition period for the new rules to come into force. The proposal for a deadline of just one year, confirmed by Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), surprised parliamentary leaders.

According to policy analyst Larissa Rodrigues, there is a version circulating behind the scenes of the federal government that this reduced deadline may just be a margin for negotiation. "There is a fear that the text will change, both in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies and especially in the Federal Senate", stated Rodrigues.

The center, in turn, has already signaled resistance to the short transition period. Days ago, sectors of the opposition were trying to achieve a ten-year transition. Sources interviewed by CNN at Palácio do Planalto and in the center itself stated that "they will not accept this short transition period". The assessment is that Planalto may be playing for a reduced period precisely to have room for negotiation throughout the process.

Senate is the big unknown
While the Chamber of Deputies has Hugo Motta defending the proposal, the Federal Senate represents a big unknown. Larissa Rodrigues highlighted that the articulations in the House are not yet organized in the same way.

"There is a big question whether it will be possible to leave this transition period for just one year, especially in the Federal Senate", said Rodrigues.

Another detail that caught attention was the fact that Leo Prates had spoken to Hugo Motta before the meeting with Lula (PT) and was then called directly for the announcement, without prior review of the agreed terms. The final text of the report still depends on negotiations throughout the week so that it can advance in the National Congress.
