In an interview with Variety magazine, Miley recalled her childhood accompanying her father on tours and film sets and stated that this early interaction with the world of celebrities made her approach public exposure naturally.

"People were very surprised by this and asked, 'When you got to Los Angeles, did your head explode?'. I never liked to think I was blasé, but because I was surrounded by show business, I was less fascinated by Hollywood. I was less enchanted by it all. It kept me more grounded. It wasn't a shock when the show came out and my life changed," he pointed out.
Despite stating that she has always handled fame well, Miley said she believes she has learned to be more present and value special moments.

When asked what advice she would give to the younger version of herself, the singer responded: "I would say: be present enough to remember. Sometimes I was moving so fast and always calculating what my next step would be that I wasn't living in the moment. Today, I make very clear decisions about what I'm going to do and I do a few things at a time, precisely to be able to be present in each one of them."
The artist also stated that today she makes a deliberate effort to mentally record important moments in her career and personal life.
"I almost feel like I can record every moment. And I know when a moment is important. When I'm at the Grammys and I look around and see [host] Oprah Winfrey, I hit record in my mind: 'Don't forget this. This is an important moment.'"
Miley also recalled memorable episodes from her youth, such as a performance at the White House during the inauguration of then President Barack Obama.
"There were some moments that stuck out to me when I was younger, like singing at the White House during Barack Obama's inauguration for his daughters. I can remember those moments, but a lot of it was blurry. So I would tell the younger Miley to slow down and pay attention."
