Italian Formula 1 fans may have mixed feelings at the next Monaco GP. That's because young Kimi Antonelli, standout of the season with Mercedes, named Ferrari as the favorite to end the German team's winning streak.
The 19-year-old driver won his fourth consecutive victory last Sunday (24) when he won the Canadian GP and opened a 43-point lead over teammate George Russell at the top of the championship.
Italian team Ferrari have not won a race since October 2024, but seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton finished second in Montreal.

The principality's street circuit favors strong cars in curves and at low speeds, reducing the importance of engine power.
"I think Ferrari will be the team to beat in Monaco and it will be very interesting to see how we will be there," Antonelli told Sky Sports at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
"For sure Ferrari is the favorite because that small rear wing they have generates a lot of downforce at low speed."

Mercedes has won all five races so far this season, as well as two of the three sprint events.
Second place in Canada was Hamilton's best result since switching from Mercedes to Ferrari in January last year, as well as representing his second podium of the season.
Leclerc also has two third places, in Australia and Japan, while Ferrari rises to second place in the constructors' championship, 72 points behind Mercedes.
