After saying goodbye to Porto, Thiago Silva takes a course to obtain a coaching license

Porto announced, last Thursday (21), that Thiago Silva will not continue with the team for next season. The defender has not yet revealed his plans for the future, but posted on social media this Sunday (24) that he is in Scotland to obtain his UEFA A License for coaches.

The Brazilian player published photos of training for the second highest official certification of football coaches from UEFA, second only to UEFA Pro. The entity's A License allows the professional to command teams in secondary divisions, youth categories and youth teams.

"Halfway through the UEFA A License journey in Scotland. Always learning. Always evolving. Football never stops teaching! Thank you Scottish Football Team & Dougie Anderson", declared the athlete.

"Legendary Brazilian defender Thiago Silva is in Scotland this week, joining former Scotland players Rachel Corsie and Stephen O'Donnell in our UEFA A License Coach Education Department," said the Scottish Football Teams profile in a post online.

Goodbye to Porto
Thiago Silva was hired by Porto in December last year and left the team after winning the Portuguese Championship. The athlete had a contract until June 2026, with an option to renew until June 2027, but Porto decided to end the contract at the end of the season.

Without a club, the defender has not yet announced whether he intends to end his career or continue in football. At the end of last year, he left Fluminense to play in Europe and be closer to his family.
