C6 Fest 2026: what went well and what can improve at the finest festival in Brazil

Since its debut in 2023, C6 Fest, in São Paulo, has established itself as a festival with great attractions - there is no complimentary text about the event that does not mention the word "curated".
At this point, it's the type of event that you can buy with your eyes closed, knowing that there will be no shortage of good shows, from jazz in the auditorium to rock, indie pop and electronica on the external stages.
In the 2026 edition, which took place between May 21st and 24th, it was no different. Between classics like Robert Plant (who performed with the band Saving Grace and Suzi Dian) and new arrivals like the French Oklou, the festival brought together names of different sizes and audiences and guaranteed, for the first time, a sold-out day (Sunday).
The festival is "fine", astral, and is one of the best in Brazil - precisely because it understands its size and, founded by a bank, has the resources to prioritize quality above profit. It's a rare privilege for festivals, which sometimes have to "sell out" to stay afloat and balance the books.
This year, it was an almost perfect edition, with small problems that did not take away from the quality, but could improve the public's experience in the coming years. See, below, what went well and what could be improved at C6:

Sold out, but without 'bullshit'
Even with tickets sold out on Sunday, the public experience was never unpleasant in the sense of crowding: the C6 attractions brought together fans, yes, but without confusion in the lineup or crowded audience.
This is a characteristic of the C6, in fact. The line-up always has names with an audience, but they don't usually attract a fanatical crowd. This guarantees an always comfortable experience for the audience, who watch the shows without any major problems.
Great shows
It may sound repetitive, but you always have to praise C6's shows. In many ways, the festival does what Primavera Sound still struggles to do well in Brazil: it brings great attractions from different genres, with a coherent curated line and space for intimate jazz shows.
This year, the festival had some of its best shows, with The XX, Oklou, Robert Plant and Cameron Winter (from Geese) among the highlights.

Park is still the best
The Ibirapuera Park space, which has hosted the event since the beginning in São Paulo, is what enhances the festival the most. While other international festivals in the city take place at the Autódromo de Interlagos, C6 stands out for taking place in a well-located, organized and flat space.
Also highlights are the beautiful stages (such as the Heineken arena, which uses the auditorium space for huge projections) and the auditorium, which hosts shows that require attention to detail.
What can still be improved
(Slight) hiccups
This year, C6 had a slight hiccup on Saturday (23), with a lot of rain that disrupted the first shows and forced the public to "hide" wherever they could. The one who lost a lot from this was Ghanaian Amaarae, who saw her audience disperse throughout the show.
There was almost no protection to "protect" from the storm, and the organization even distributed raincoats, but they soon ran out.
Later, of course, the park turned into a quagmire. The platforms spread out in front of the stages helped, but didn't completely solve the problem. For future editions, it may be necessary to increase the covered areas.
Low volume and unengaged audience
There is always talk at a show, but in some performances in the outdoor arena, the sound was considerably lower than the voices of the crowd.
It was a problem both with the volume of the sound and with the audience, who often didn't bother to keep quiet to hear Robert Plant sing. Or Russo Passapusso, leader of Baianasystem, with notorious difficulty in getting a response from the public to match the energy of the songs.
This characteristic is not new today. In 2025, g1 pointed out that a negative side of the festival was the large number of guests from the organization and sponsors.

The impression is that many people go for the review, not to enjoy the shows.
Right on New Year's Eve weekend...
The biggest criticism of this edition is the choice of dates. A festival in May is welcome, as the others are concentrated at the beginning and end of the year, and the cool weather suits the C6 "vibe".
But just like in 2025, the festival coincided with Virada Cultural de São Paulo, the biggest free event in the city. It's a shame that, when São Paulo is pulsating with culture, the public has to choose between events.
