Caixa anticipates for this second payment of R$8.5 billion to workers who had opted for the birthday withdrawal

Caixa Econômica Federal reported that it brought forward to this Monday (25) the release of payment to workers who had opted for the anniversary withdrawal from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) and who were dismissed without just cause between 2020 and 2025.
R$8.5 billion will be paid to around 10.5 million workers across the country.
The initial expectation was that the resources would begin to be deposited into workers' current or savings accounts only this Tuesday (26).
"Credits will be automatically made to bank accounts registered in the FGTS application for eligible workers, who opted for the Birthday Withdrawal modality and had their employment contract suspended or terminated between January 1, 2020 and December 23, 2025", informed the institution.

Workers who do not yet have a registered account will be able to make the withdrawal through physical service channels, such as agencies, lotteries and self-service terminals, until June 1, 2026.
The worker can check whether he has credit to receive and the amount available directly in the FGTS application, in the options "Summary of Your FGTS - Detailed Statement" and "Useful Information".
The credit occurs after the incorporation of the monthly FGTS profitability (interest and monetary update), guaranteeing a greater amount available.
"It is worth highlighting that workers born in June, opting for the Birthday Withdrawal, will receive the amounts provided for in MP nº 1,331/2025 from 06/01/2026, after payment of the Birthday Withdrawal installment or transfer to the financial institutions scheduled for the month, according to the regular calendar", added Caixa Econômica Federal.

Also from this Monday (25th), workers can now consult the balance of the Service Time Guarantee Fund (FGTS) to use it in Novo Desenrola, a debt renegotiation program launched by the federal government.
This is the first step towards using the resources for the reduction of bank debts.
Those who join the initiative will be able to use up to 20% of the available balance in the FGTS or R$1,000, whichever is higher, to pay off or amortize outstanding debts.
The amount will be transferred directly to the financial institutions responsible for the renegotiated contracts.
Federal government calculations estimate that up to R$8.2 billion of the FGTS can be transferred under the program.
How will it work?
The worker will consult its balance and may authorize the bank to which it owes to seek the value of the balance available for negotiation.
Then, it negotiates with the debtor bank the discounted value of the debt at the financial institution itself.
After consulting the balance, banks and other financial institutions will have an estimated period of up to 30 days to formalize the contracts and register the information in the Caixa Econômica Federal systems.
Once validation is complete, Caixa will transfer the FGTS resources directly to the institution creditor.
