During the Eco Invest Brasil event, taking place this Monday (25), the Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, said that Brazil was one of the countries least affected by the war in the Middle East, despite facing a rise in fuel prices.

During the presentation, which reveals the results of the program's 4th auction and officially launches the initiative's 5th auction, the minister highlighted that while some countries are already discussing fuel rationing, in Brazil the innovative movement makes a difference.

"We explore crude oil, but we import fuels, which offsets the impacts and guarantees resilience for the country to go through a difficult time," he said.

Durigan also emphasized that the country's focus is also on fertilizers, biofuels and stimulators of the productive sector, also including critical minerals and the bioeconomy.

"All this with catalytic capital stimulates the development of these chains that Brazil already has and is seeking to increase, while the state seeks to extract the best from the private sector."

During the event, panels on innovation and integration for economic development, covering topics such as strategic value chains and integration between universities and industry, also stood out.

4th Eco Invest Brasil auction
The 4th Eco Invest Brasil auction, launched by the federal government during COP30, focuses on bioeconomy and sustainable tourism projects in the Amazon.

The initiative is part of the government's ecological transition strategy and seeks to attract private capital to finance sustainable activities.

The third auction concentrated investments in energy transition, which absorbed approximately R$34 billion, equivalent to 64.5% of the total forecast.

Among the main segments financed are SAF (sustainable aviation fuel), batteries and electric vehicles, biogas and biomass. The bioeconomy accounted for R$8.4 billion of the planned investments.

The Eco Invest model uses public resources as a mechanism to mitigate exchange rate risk to unlock private capital.

According to the National Treasury, each R$1 of public resources mobilized around R$4 in private investments in the third auction.
