Transactions via Pix in retail surpass transfers between individuals

The volume of transfers via Pix between people and companies exceeded the total of transactions between individuals in the second half of 2025. The information is contained in the Financial Stability Report released by the BC (Central Bank) this Monday (25).


In December 2025, 44.4% of Pix transactions registered by the Central Bank occurred between people and companies. This percentage was 42.4% in June last year.


Pix transfers between individuals corresponded to 42.4% of the total in December 2025. In the June report, 44.5% of transactions were carried out person-to-person.

In the second half of last year, Pix represented 29% of total retail payments. During the period, the volume of operations through the tool grew 21.6%.


Central Bank data also shows that 99% of transactions were processed by the Instant Payment System in 0.449 seconds.
