Initiatives related to education, professional training and community development have gained relevance within the construction sector. Increasingly, companies invest in projects aimed at social transformation, educational training and generation of opportunities.


MRV maintains initiatives aimed at both employees and communities in different regions of the country, focusing on education, professional qualification and social impact.


How does MRV's volunteering program work?
The MRV Volunteers program mobilizes company employees in social actions aimed mainly at promoting education for children and young people and strengthening the communities served.

According to MRV, the initiative seeks to strengthen employee engagement in social transformation projects. Each participant has 44 working hours per year to dedicate to volunteering.


Program numbers include:


- 4,285 participating volunteers;
- 35 thousand people directly impacted;
- 105 thousand people indirectly impacted;
- More than R$1.2 million invested since 2015.

What is the Educar para Transformar program?
Educate to Transform is a public call created to support social projects linked to education.


MRV explains that the initiative seeks to support civil society organizations that develop solutions to social challenges in different regions of Brazil. Since 2016, the program has:


- Supported 51 projects;
- Impacted more than 212 thousand people;
- Was present in 14 Brazilian states.


The supported initiatives aim to expand access to learning and promote social transformation in communities.


How does the program aimed at children of MRV employees work?
The Your Son, Our Future program offers educational support for children of MRV&CO employees in different age groups. According to the construction company, the initiative includes:


- Children's books for children aged 0 to 5;
- School material kits for children aged 6 to 14;
- Professional development courses for young people aged 15 to 24.


Between 2017 and 2023, the program recorded:


- 36 thousand people directly impacted;
- 110 thousand people indirectly impacted;
- More than R$ 3.6 million invested.


What is the role of the iungo Institute?
The iungo Institute works in the professional development of educators in different regions of Brazil. Created with the support of MRV&CO, the project works in partnership with education departments, universities and third sector organizations.


Among the areas of action are:


- Teacher training;
- Production of teaching materials;
- Research on education;
- Teacher appreciation campaigns;
- Debates on educational topics.


According to the company, the initiatives also address contemporary issues such as sustainability, climate change and social inequalities.


How does MRV work to educate workers?
The Escola Nota 10 program offers literacy, basic education and professional training on the company's construction sites.


MRV states that the project seeks to expand personal and professional training opportunities within the work environment.

Created in 2010, with management by the Sustainability Team and operational support from Instituto MRV&CO in partnership with Alicerce Educação, the program:


- It has trained more than 7 thousand students;
- It is present in different regions of Brazil;
- Its goal is to reach 100% of literate workers.


The initiative combines professional qualification and incentives for basic education.


How does training for women in construction work?
The Elas Transformam a Construção project offers professional training for women in situations of social vulnerability.


According to MRV, participants receive training to work in functions linked to civil construction.


The training offered includes:


- Painting;
- Masonry;
- Ceramics;
- Tiles.


"Our work goes beyond hiring. We work on literacy and the fight against violence against women throughout the year. We intensify this positioning with a Daily Safety Dialogue (DDS) focused exclusively on raising awareness and supporting our employees", explains Tatiana Villefort, Director of Human Development at MRV.
