The battle for supremacy in the Women's Champions League between Barcelona and Lyon will resume in the final this Saturday (23), at 1 pm, with the culés still seeking to take the position of the most dominant team in Europe from their opponents, owners of the record titles.

The highly anticipated clash at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, Norway, will mark the fourth time that the two teams have met in the final of Europe's premier club competition, with Lyon emerging victorious in 2019 and 2022 and Barça winning the title in 2024.

The culés will be looking for a fourth Champions League title to get a little closer to Lyon's total of eight titles, but Norwegian striker Ada Hegerberg has her sights set on achieving yet another European crown, winning at home and adding to the French club's brilliant collection of trophies.

"They are the two best teams in Europe at the moment, and I think and hope that we can put on a great show for the people who watch tomorrow," she said at a press conference this Friday (22).

"It would mean everything (to win). It's the 12th (Champions) final for the club, it could be the ninth trophy... We are very humble in our approach, but we are also confident in our strengths and we will give everything", he assured.

Lyon won their first continental titles in 2011 and 2012 and then went on a run of five titles between 2016 and 2020, before lifting the trophy again in 2022, consolidating their position as the most complete women's team in Europe.

Although the final is the sixth in a row, Barça have not yet reached the same level of dominance. A shock 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the final ended the season on a disappointing note, and the club are shrugging off the fact they beat Lyon in the final two years ago.

"I don't think you can compare one season with another, nor one final with another," Alexia Putellas told reporters.

"Each team has its own path and we have evolved a lot, and they have also changed. I think the previous finals will not influence the game. We will do our best", he added.
