SP Civil Defense warns of rain and strong winds this weekend

The Civil Defense of São Paulo issued, this Friday (22), an alert for rain and strong winds across the state this weekend. There is a risk of flooding, falling trees and other disturbances, especially in the east of São Paulo.

Between Saturday (23) and Sunday (24), the passage of a low pressure system is expected to cause storms with gusty winds.

On Saturday (23), a large part of the state should be affected by areas of instability generated by the low pressure system. In the capital of São Paulo, there is potential for flooding, especially between the morning and afternoon.

The areas of Presidente Prudente, Itapeva, Araçatuba, Marília, Bauru, Sorocaba, the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo and Baixada Santista may also be affected by strong gusts of wind.

In case of intense rain, Civil Defense recommends avoiding flooded areas, riverbanks and places at risk of landslides, in addition to not taking shelter under trees or metal structures during gusts of wind.
