Flávio Bolsonaro's (PL) pre-campaign team wants to prevent American President Donald Trump from applying new trade tariffs to Brazil for fear that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will be able to politically exploit the measure and increase his advantage in electoral polls.

Now, one of Flávio's bets to get back on his feet is precisely the eventual meeting with Donald Trump at the White House. The idea is to show that, despite the successful meeting between Lula and Trump at the beginning of the month, and the crisis in the pre-campaign due to Master, the relationship with the American right has not been shaken.

Flávio's people say that the invitation to the agenda with Trump came from the White House, articulated by the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and with the participation of Eduardo Bolsonaro.

Flávio has preached pragmatism in foreign relations and has been guided by career diplomats, among others. Officially, the visit has not yet been confirmed by the Americans.
