Weekly survey of Safras & Mercado indicates that, by May 20, 9% of the 2026/27 harvest had been harvested. The percentage is lower than that recorded in the same period last year (13%) and also below the average of the last five years (2020-2025), of 14% for this time of year.

According to Safras & Mercado analyst, Gil Barabach, coffee harvesting work continues at a slow pace in Brazil, partially hampered by humidity and the slower maturation of crops.
