Inter launches new functionality for crypto and announces partnership with Tether

Inter announced, this Friday (22), the launch of "Trocar Cripto", a new functionality that allows customers to convert digital assets within the application without charging fees.

According to Inter, the new tool was created to allow investors to rebalance and compose their cryptoactive portfolios in a simpler way. In addition to the functionality, the bank now makes USDT and XAUT, a token backed by gold, available.

The institution also announced a strategic partnership with stablecoin issuer Tether. With the agreement, the bank states that it intends to expand customer access to solutions linked to the blockchain and stablecoins ecosystem.

As part of the partnership, Tether is expected to expand its institutional presence in Brazil through branding and financial education initiatives. The company sponsored the Bitcoin Pizza Day event and is expected to participate in the Invest Summit, scheduled for September, in Belo Horizonte.

The news is part of a strategy to expand Inter's operations in digital assets. Until then, the institution's experience in the segment was mainly concentrated in the purchase and sale of cryptoassets.
