Video: Deolane's defense cites 9-year-old son and asks for house arrest

During Deolane Bezerra's custody hearing this Thursday afternoon (21), after being arrested, the influencer's defense requested the lawyer's house arrest. CNN Brasil obtained access to the video of the session.

Deolane's lawyers cited that she is the mother of a 9-year-old child and reinforced the illegality of the arrest. She was arrested during an operation investigating her alleged involvement in a money laundering scheme linked to the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital).

The hearing was held virtually by the Vara das Garantias de Osasco, in São Paulo.

In addition, during the hearing, Deolane confirmed to the judge that his lawyers will request the revocation of his arrest. Her defense supports the argument that the arrest is illegal and disproportionate, as the amounts received by the lawyer were related to the exercise of her profession, when advocating for members of the PCC.

Your Excellency, I was arrested while carrying out my profession. At the time of the events, I was a lawyer. This is an old case, from 2019 and 2020. I want to make it clear, even though I know that the merits are not discussed here, that I was arrested due to an amount of R$24 thousand deposited into my account by a client. The police report itself mentions my assistance to the client as a lawyer. In other words, I was arrested while carrying out my profession.

The custody hearing is procedural in nature and serves only to verify whether there was any illegality during the execution of the arrest warrant. In Deolane's case, nothing was found and she remains in prison.

Other requests presented by the defense must be analyzed by the judge responsible for issuing the preventive arrest warrant.

Why was Deolane arrested?
According to investigations, the influencer had close ties, both personal and business, with one of the ghost managers of a transport company investigated by the authorities. The lawyer's financial structure would have been used to give the appearance of legality to the faction's illicit resources. In total, she opened 35 shell companies at the same address to launder the money.

One of the clues collected by investigators came from a cell phone seized from the company's owners, where proof of direct deposits were found to two Deolane accounts. The investigators point out that the transfers took place in a context of "closing accounts" for the PCC, and not as payment for legal legal services.

As a result, the influencer, according to the police, began to occupy a prominent position in the case due to significant financial movements, asset incompatibilities and signs of connection with members of the PCC's core command.

Investigations also point to a relationship between Deolane and Paloma Sanches Herbas Camacho, niece of the PCC's top leader, Marcos Willians Herbas Camacho (Marcola).

Paloma is the daughter of Alejandro Juvenal Herbas Camacho, the "Gordão", and is appointed as the main intermediary of the orders at the top of the faction.

She would be responsible for transmitting the determinations received during visits to the federal prison system to the external financial managers of the money laundering scheme.

The authorities describe that the roles of Paloma and Deolane were complementary: while Marcola's niece guaranteed the transmission of orders and the sharing of profits, the content creator lent her own business structure and her "apparent social respectability" to the integration phase.

"The technical defense of lawyer Dr. Deolane Bezerra Santos comes, with the utmost respect to the institutions of the Justice System and the Democratic Rule of Law, to provide the necessary clarifications on the events that resulted in her preventive arrest on today's date, 05/21/2026. Initially, we emphasize her most absolute innocence, as well as that the facts will be duly clarified by this defense at an opportune moment. For now, and with due respect, we consider The measures signed against Deolane are disproportionate, and this defense panel will continue to cooperate technically with the Court to demonstrate the lawfulness of its activities as a lawyer, fully trusting in the discernment, reasonableness and impartiality of the Judiciary."
