Federal deputy Mário Frias (PL-SP) is expected to return to Brazil next Sunday (24) to provide clarifications in person to Flávio Dino, minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), about his trips to Bahrain and the United States, in addition to answering questions related to the financing of Jair Bolsonaro's biographical film, "Dark Horse". The information comes from CNN anchor Tainá Falcão on Backstage CNN.
The information was confirmed by the parliamentarian himself in a phone call to the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB).
Dino had set a deadline of 48 hours for the Chamber of Deputies to provide details about Frias's trip, including whether there was formal authorization for him to remain outside the country during the period of absence and whether the House covered the costs.

Federal Government signs service order for "middle section" on BR-319

The House also clarified that the trips took place at no cost to the institution.
Travel without formal authorization raises questions
Frias filed two requests with the board of directors: one referring to the trip to Bahrain, between the 12th and 18th of May, with a request for leave between the 11th and 19th of the same month; and another to the United States, where he was at the time of the investigation, between the 19th and 21st of May, with scheduled leave from the 18th to the 22nd.
In a post on social media, the parliamentarian stated that he was on an "official agenda with the knowledge of President Hugo Motta" and said he was willing to provide all clarifications directly to Minister Flávio Dino upon returning to the country.

For policy analyst Clarissa Oliveira, the lack of clear authorization makes it natural for other parliamentarians and authorities to ask questions about the trip. "It is absolutely natural for the authorities to question the parliamentarian or keep an eye on what is happening," said Clarissa, highlighting that there is a history of people linked to Bolsonarism who left the country and were considered fugitives - citing the cases of Alexandre Ramagem, Carla Zambelli and Eduardo Bolsonaro.
For her, given the circumstances, the ideal would be for Frias to present the clarifications as soon as possible.
Investigation into parliamentary amendments to the film
The situation of Mário Frias (PL-SP) began to be investigated by the STF after Flávio Dino unsuccessfully tried to subpoena him as part of an investigation related to the financing of the film "Dark Horse", a biographical production about former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in which Frias acts as executive producer.
Dino investigates the alleged sending of around R$ 2 million in parliamentary amendments by the parliamentarian to the Instituto Saber Brasil, an entity linked to the producer Karina Ferreira da Gama, responsible for the film. The complaint was reportedly filed by Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP).
