China temporarily suspended three Brazilian slaughterhouses, after identifying sanitary irregularities, reported the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec).
The embargo affects the following companies:
JBS, at the Pontes e Lacerda unit (MT, SIF 51);
PrimaFoods, at the Araguari plant (MG, SIF 177);
and Frialto, at the Matupá slaughterhouse (MT SIF 4490).
G1 contacted the companies, but received no response until the last update of this report. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese Embassy also did not respond to the request for positioning.

According to Abiec, the measure has a temporary and preventive nature, for the traceability of the raw material and the adoption of the necessary measures by the companies involved.
The association argues that Brazil has "one of the most rigorous and internationally recognized health control systems, with continuous monitoring throughout the entire production chain and permanent action by the Federal Inspection Service (SIF)".
The cargoes identified by the Chinese authorities are being treated "in accordance with the health protocols established between the two countries", informs the note.

The suspension took place in the same week that China announced the resumption of shipments from three other plants, which had been embargoed for 1 year.
One of them also belongs to JBS, located in Mozarlândia. The other two were a Frisa unit, in Nanuque (MG), and another from Bon-Marte, in Presidente Prudente (SP).
Brazil has more than 100 slaughterhouses qualified to sell meat to China, the Ministry of Agriculture reported in 2025.
