Dataprev (Pension Technology and Information Company) detected the leak of 50 thousand CPFs. The incident occurred on April 22.


According to preliminary information, 97% of CPFs accessed are from people who have already died. Less than 3% correspond to information from individuals who do not have a death record.


Soon after being identified, the incident was reported to the National Data Protection Agency.

In a note, the INSS (National Social Security Institute) highlighted that granting benefits requires a series of documents and proof steps. Payroll loans, for example, require facial biometrics. The death pension requires a death certificate, among other documents and procedures.


"The granting of any benefit has a series of security locks. The INSS has reinforced its internal controls in order to offer greater security in the analysis of its benefits", he says.
