Santa Catarina may see an average increase of 11.77% in Celesc Distribuição's electricity bill from August 22, 2026, according to a proposal from Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency) for the concessionaire's Periodic Tariff Review.

The index will still be submitted to public consultation, which should take place between May 28th and July 13th, with a face-to-face meeting in Florianópolis on June 18th.

According to the proposal, the average impact would be greater for consumers connected to high voltage, such as industries and large consumer units, with an increase of 16.91%.

For low voltage, a group that includes homes and small businesses, the expected average increase is 9.32%.

Specifically in the case of residential consumers, the estimated variation is 9.36%.

According to Aneel, the increase is mainly explained by the inclusion of financial costs that will be offset in the tariff for the next 12 months. This item alone represents an impact of 9.01%.

The updating of costs recognized by the agency for the distributor's operation (Parcel A) and for expenses that do not depend directly on Celesc (Parcel B), such as charges, transmission and purchase of energy, also weighs in the calculation. This repositioning accounts for 3.59% of the average effect.

On the other hand, the removal of financial costs that were already being charged in the previous cycle reduces the final impact by 0.82 percentage points. As a result, the proposed average effect reaches 11.77%.

Celesc serves around 3.56 million consumer units and has annual revenue of around R$13.26 billion.
