Virada Cultural: check out the schedule of museums in São Paulo

The city of São Paulo hosts Virada Cultural next weekend, on the 23rd and 24th of May. With the theme "The Festival of Festivals", the event brings musical and cultural attractions, and also has a program focused on the city's museums.

The 21st edition of Virada Cultural prepares exhibitions and guided tours in museums such as Casa Mário de Andrade, Museu Ipiranga, Museu Afro Brasil and the Museu da Imagem e Som.

Museu Casa Mário de Andrade
The space is located in Barra Funda and will offer forró classes, slam, cultural walk, debate on the story of Mário de Andrade and storytelling.

Ipiranga Museum
The museum will have free entry during the weekend, with guided tours in Libras. In addition, the show "Tá Todo Mundo Rindo?" presents a social critique, articulating experiences with discussions about accessibility, inclusion and ableism.

Jewish Museum of São Paulo
The space, located in Bela Vista, in the center of São Paulo, will offer mediated visits and also autonomous visits. Furthermore, a conversation with Alberto Pitta aims to outline a dialogue about the exhibition process carried out especially for the Museu Afro in the exhibition "Um Xirê para Emanoel Araujo".

Museum of Indigenous Cultures
The space, which is located in the Água Branca neighborhood, will have a sustainable clothing workshop, a graphics workshop and a Cantora da Floresta entourage as part of the weekend's program.

- Sustainable Biojewelry Making, with Zenaide dos Santos S. Aguilar - 05/23 at 3pm;
- Wanî Saí Keneya Entourage: the corner of the living forest - 05/23 at 5:15pm.

Immigration Museum
The museum, which is located in the Mooca neighborhood, in the east zone of São Paulo, will be especially free this Sunday (21). In the afternoon, the program includes a forró workshop.

- Forró de Abraço Fechado: Ancestry and Autonomy in Dancing - 05/24 at 3pm.

Museu Afro Brasil
In addition to several exhibitions on display, the museum, which is located in Vila Mariana, has a Graphic Arts Fair and a meeting about the 21st anniversary of the Carolina Maria de Jesus Library.

- Meeting with Vera Eunice at the 21st anniversary of the Carolina Maria de Jesus Library "The presence of Carolina Maria de Jesus in the collection of the Museu Afro Brasil Emanoel Araujo" - 23/05 at 2pm.

MIS (Museum of Image and Sound)
The museum, located in Jardim Europa, in the west of São Paulo, will have free entry with a program full of diverse collections. Among them are the Photography Timeline, New Photography 2026 "Towards Deep Pernambuco", Ayrton Senna through the eyes of Joe Honda and the Temporary Exhibition "Um xirê para Emanoel".

The program in cultural spaces begins at 10 am this Saturday (23) and Sunday (24).
