The Federal Revenue opens consultations on the largest batch of refunds in the history of Income Tax this Friday (22).


In this first shipment of 2026, 8,749,992 taxpayers will be provided with R$16 billion in credits.


The amount represents 40% of the refunds scheduled to be paid this year, both in amounts and number of taxpayers.

If they are not included in this batch, taxpayers can still receive the amounts to be refunded on the next dates:


- Second batch: June 30th;
- Third batch: July 31st;
- Fourth batch: August 28th.


In the last update from the Tax Authorities until the closing of the article, at 10:21 pm on Thursday (21), 29,223,177 declarations had been delivered. Of these, 63.1% had amounts to be refunded.

The transfer follows an order of priority. Elderly people aged 80 and over receive first; then people over 60 years old or with a disability or serious illness; and then teachers whose biggest source of income is teaching.


After these groups, priority will be given to taxpayers who use the pre-filled declaration and choose to receive the refund via Pix, with a key linked to the CPF.


The values for this round will be distributed between:


- 256,697 elderly people over 80 years old;
- 2,256,975 elderly people between 60 and 79 years old;
- 222,100 people with physical or mental disabilities or serious illnesses; the pre-filled declaration and chose to receive it via Pix.

To check whether the refund has been released, the taxpayer must:


- Access the Federal Revenue portal on gov.br;
- Click on "My Income Tax";
- Select "Consult my refund".


The query can also be made through the official Federal Revenue app for tablets and smartphones. The system offers:


- Simplified consultation;
- Complete consultation via e-CAC;
- Guidelines and service channels.
