Income Tax: Revenue opens consultation on the 1st batch of refunds today (22)

The Federal Revenue opens, this Friday (22), the consultation of the 1st batch of Income Tax refund 2026. The consultation will open at 10am (Brasília time).

According to the agency, this is the highest amount ever paid in an IRPF refund batch, with R$16 billion in credits and 8.7 million taxpayers covered.

Payment will be made on May 29th. Refunds will be credited throughout the day, depending on the processing of each financial institution.

The IRS advises that taxpayers wait until the end of the day to make the deposit, as credit hours may vary between banks.

According to the Tax Authorities, the R$16 billion that will be deposited in May should move sectors such as commerce, services and debt payments.

- 256,697 refunds for seniors over 80 years old;
- 2,256,975 refunds for seniors between 60 and 79 years old;
- 222,100 refunds for people with physical or mental disabilities or serious illnesses; teaching.

In addition, 4,959,431 refunds will be allocated to taxpayers who used the pre-filled declaration and chose to receive it via Pix.

How to check
To check whether the refund has been released, the taxpayer must:

- Access www.gov.br/receitafederal
- Click on "My Income Tax"
- Select "Consult my refund"

The query can also be made through the official Federal Revenue app for tablets and smartphones.

The system offers:

- Simplified consultation;
- Complete consultation via e-CAC;
- Guidelines and service channels.

If pending issues are identified in the declaration, the taxpayer may rectify the incorrect information.
