STF judges this sixth preventive arrest of Vorcaro's cousin

The Second Panel of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) begins judging this Friday (22) whether the preventive detention of Felipe Cançado Vorcaro, cousin of former banker Daniel Vorcaro and appointed by the PF (Federal Police) as one of the financial operators of the scheme investigated in Operation Compliance Zero.

The case will be analyzed in the class's virtual plenary between May 22nd and 29th. The ministers will decide whether to endorse the decision of Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the Banco Master investigation at the Supreme Court, which converted Felipe's temporary arrest into preventive detention.

Felipe was arrested at the beginning of May during the fifth phase of the PF operation, which investigates crimes against the national financial system, money laundering, asset concealment and corruption involving companies linked to Daniel Vorcaro's group.

The trial takes place amid negotiations over a possible award-winning collaboration agreement for Daniel Vorcaro.

The Federal Police rejected on Wednesday (20) a plea bargain proposal presented by the former banker, arrested since March as part of Operation Compliance Zero. As CNN Brasil showed, investigators assessed that Vorcaro did not present new information in relation to the material already gathered by the investigation.

Despite this, the defense of the former owner of Banco Master continues negotiating an agreement with the PGR (Attorney General's Office), which has shown interest in continuing the talks.
