How to make the query?
Income tax

As soon as the query is available, the taxpayer must access the Revenue page on internet and click on the "My Income Tax" option. Then, simply click on "Consult the Refund".
The page offers guidance and channels for providing the service, allowing a simplified or complete consultation of the status of the declaration, through the processing statement, accessed in e-CAC. If any pending issue is identified in the declaration, the taxpayer can rectify it, correcting the information.
The Federal Revenue Service also provides an application for tablets and smartphones that allows information to be consulted directly in the Federal Revenue databases on the release of IRPF refunds and the registration status of a CPF registration.
In an official note, the Tax Authorities states that "it is committed to paying refunds only to a bank account held by the taxpayer". Therefore, it is worth highlighting that the Revenue's security routines prevent payment if there is an error in the bank details provided or there is a problem in the destination account.
"In order to avoid harm to the taxpayer, the Revenue offers the rescheduling service made available by Banco do Brasil for a period of up to one year from the first credit attempt. Thus, the taxpayer will be able to correct the bank details for an account they own", states the note.
In this case, the citizen will be able to reschedule the credit of the amounts through the BB Portal, or by calling the BB Relationship Center via telephone numbers:
4004-0001 (capitals)
0800-729-0001 (other locations)
0800-729-0088 (special telephone number exclusively for the hearing impaired)
When using this service, the taxpayer must inform the amount of the refund and the declaration receipt number. Then, just wait for the new credit attempt.

If the taxpayer does not redeem his refund within the deadline, he will need to make a request through the e-CAC Portal.
Fine mesh
When carrying out the consultation, the taxpayer will also be able to find out if there is any pending issue in his declaration that prevents the payment of the refund, that is, if he fell into the so-called "fine mesh". internet.
Access is through the use of the gov.br account, at the silver or gold levels.
Taxpayers must search, in the service, for "declarations and statements".
Then they must search for "My Income Tax", and consult the 2026 declaration.
The Tax Authorities will inform:
If the declaration was processed (regular situation);
If there are pending issues (fine mesh).
If there are any, pendency, this means that the declaration fell into the lion's share of fine mesh, that is, it was retained due to discrepancies in data with those that the Tax Authorities have about the taxpayer.
In this case, the inconsistency could be the result of incorrect information provided by the taxpayer himself, the company he works for (paying source) or even third parties (service providers). problem.
If the worker has provided incorrect information, he or she must send a rectifying statement to correct the information. As soon as this is done by the worker, his declaration leaves the fine mesh.
If the paying source, or a service provider (from which the taxpayer included an invoice in his declaration) made a mistake, the taxpayer must wait for the information to be rectified.
