Libertadores: Corinthians draws with Peñarol and guarantees group leadership

Continental champions in 2012, Corinthians visited Peñarol, on Thursday night (21), and guaranteed the leadership of Group E by seeking a 1-1 draw, at the Campeón del Siglo, in Montevideo, Uruguay, in the fifth round of the Libertadores group stage.

It is worth noting that the black and white team entered the field with an alternative lineup - goalkeeper Hugo Souza, defenders Gabriel Paulista and Gustavo Henrique and midfielder André were the only potential starters who started the match.

First half

Also on Sunday (24), the Aurinegros will visit Defensor, at 6:30 pm, at Luis Franzini, in Montevideo, for the second round of the Torneo Intermedio of the Uruguayan Championship, in which they are one of the four of eight teams in Group B that won in their debut, as well as Boston River, Central Español and Racing.
