Shakira invites dance group from Uganda to open World Cup

Singer Shakira, 49, invited this Tuesday (19) a famous children's dance group from Uganda, Triplets Ghetto Kids, to perform with her at the 2026 World Cup. In the group's profile, the children showed the moment the singer made a video call to make the invitation.

The performance takes place in the World Cup final, in July. In the invitation, Shakira speaks directly to the children and moved part of the group. "I want it to be special for all of us, unforgettable, that's why I decided to invite you to dance with me in the final", said the artist.

The children reacted euphorically with dances, screams and celebrations.

The group previously went viral with choreography full of energy and creativity. And now, they will perform alongside Shakira in the closing program of the 2026 World Cup.

The final of the competition will take place on July 19th and, in addition to Shakira, Madonna and the K-pop group BTS will also perform at the event. This will be the first time that the World Cup will have a halftime show in the middle of the final match, which will be played at the MetLife stadium, in New Jersey, in the United States.
