The Rio de Janeiro Military Police seized, this Thursday (21), equipment used by drug traffickers to monitor the movement of security forces in the Pantanal community, in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense.


The action was carried out by agents from the 15th BPM (Duque de Caxias). According to the unit, investigations began after the intelligence system identified that criminals operating in the locality were using a clandestine surveillance system installed in various parts of the region.


Investigations and inspections located cameras installed on posts and strategic points used to monitor the actions of the Military Police.

It was also possible to locate a clandestine monitoring center installed in a condominium in the region. Materials used to maintain illegal internet and cable TV systems were found at the site.


Internal circuit monitoring equipment, tools used to install the clandestine system and a vehicle used to transport the material were seized during the operation.

The 60th DP (Campos Elíseos) was responsible for registering the case and receiving all the material seized in the action.


The Military Police pointed out to CNN Brasil that intelligence actions have been intensified to combat structures used by organized crime, prevent illegal monitoring of security forces and weaken the activities of criminal factions in Baixada Fluminense.
