Vista Pictures. Foi dirigido por Roger Allers e Rob Minkoff, com roteiro creditado a Linda Woolverton, Irene Mecchi e Jonathan Roberts, e música de Elton John com letras de Tim Rice. O filme narra a história do jovem leão Simba, que sente-se culpado pelo assassinato do seu pai, o rei Mufasa, e foge do seu Reino, sem saber que a morte foi orquestrada pelo seu tio Scar para tomar o poder. "I Pity the Fool" is a soul blues song originally recorded by Bobby Bland in 1961 for his first Duke Records album, Two Steps from the Blues. Many music writers believe that it was written by Joe Medwick, although Duke owner Don Robey appears on the songwriting credits.
