It starts to play in the movie as Michael runs across the street of the Radio City Music Hall to the
telephone booth. He calls Sonny after Kay spotted a newspaper that reported their father having been gunned
down. Composed by Nino Rota, conducted by Carlo Savina.
With 53 seconds of length, this cue heavily relies on the string various strings which I have split up into
three different voices: The ones that stay in the background, as well as the higher and lower strings that
temporarily move into the foreground. A bassoon, horn, clarinet and flute are also heard. While moments hint
at the Godfather Waltz, it is mostly the melody of The New Godfather (or Michael's Theme). Transposal to the
mandolin in GDae standard tuning.
