Mineral é um corpo natural sólido e cristalino, de estrutura atômica ordenada periódica e uma composição química definida, formado em resultado

da interação de processos físico-químicos em ambientes geológicos. Cada mineral é classificado e denominado não apenas com base na sua composição química, mas também na estrutura cristalina dos materiais que o compõem. Em resultado dessa distinção, materiais com a mesma composição química podem constituir minerais totalmente distintos em resultado de meras diferenças estruturais na forma como os seus átomos ou moléculas se arranjam especialmente. Até 8 de agosto de 2020 havia 5617 minerais sendo 208 produzidos por atividades humanas, onde 29 são minerais carboníferos. Mineral é uma banda norte-americana de post-hardcore e emocore. Foi fundada em 1994 na cidade de Houston, no Texas, mas logo após sua formação mudou-se para Austin.
