No início eram chamadas de Nameless, depois passou para The Scorpions até o final de 1969, depois foram chamados simplesmente de Scorpions. O primeiro álbum da banda foi o LP Lonesome Crow de 1972, com os irmãos Rudolf e Michael Schenker nas guitarras. No ano seguinte, Michael deixa a banda para entrar no UFO e foi substituído pelo guitarrista Uli Jon Roth, que gravou os álbuns Fly to the Rainbow, em 1974, In Trance em 1975, Virgin Killer, em 1976 e Taken by Force em 1977. O último trabalho da "era Uli Jon Roth" é o álbum ao vivo Tokyo Tapes de 1978. "Send Me an Angel" é uma canção da banda alemã de hard rock e heavy metal Scorpions que foi composta pelo vocalista Klaus Meine e pelo guitarrista Rudolf Schenker e incluída como a última faixa de Crazy World (1990), o décimo primeiro álbum de estúdio da agrupação. Trata-se de uma power ballad cujas letras abordam a gratidão e a busca por ajuda para encontrar o caminho correto, exemplificada na figura de um anjo da guarda. Foi lançada como o quarto single do álbum em junho de 1991 pela Mercury Records, que notou potencial na faixa potencial para manter o sucesso do lançamento anterior, "Wind of Change".
