If the "8" and "10" chords don't sound good on your amp, you can play "1" and "3" on the A string,
because they are the same chords (A# and C power chords) and these don't use the bass section on your amp.
To get the tone of the original guitars, I use the middle pickup (if you don't have a middle, you can use the
neck pickup) with the tone turned all the way down to get the dull sound in the verses.
For the verses I turn my amps gain relatively high, and use a distortion pedal to get even more gain in the
choruses.
