Oceano Pacífico em Hermosa Beach, Califórnia, Estados Unidos. A imagem foi capturada em abril de 1954 pelo fotógrafo do Los Angeles Times, John L. Gaunt. Poucos minutos antes da foto ser tirada, o filho do casal, Michael, de dezenove meses, havia desaparecido.
