Ele é reconhecido por suas habilidades técnicas e por sua versatilidade, tendo tocado com diversos artistas dos mais variados gêneros. Por conta disso, ele foi induzido ao Hall da Fama da revista Modern Drummer em 1996, e ao da Classic Drummer em 2014.
