Sir Elton Hercules John CH, CBE é um pianista, cantor, compositor, produtor e filantropo britânico. Em 1969, John lançou seu primeiro álbum,

"Empty Sky", mas foi com seu segundo álbum, autointitulado, de 1970, que ele alcançou sucesso mundial com o single, "Your Song". Desde então, ele emplacou vários sucessos e vendeu mais de 300 milhões de discos, tornando-o um dos músicos de maior sucesso no mundo. "Candle in the Wind", uma canção reescrita em 1997, em homenagem à amiga falecida princesa Diana, vendeu mais de 33 milhões de cópias em todo o mundo e entrou para o Guinness World Records como o single mais vendido da história.
