Official). Jefferson Airplane foi uma banda de rock americana formada em São Francisco, Califórnia, em 1965. Uma das bandas pioneiras do rock psicodélico, o grupo definiu o som de São Francisco e foi o primeiro da Bay Area a alcançar sucesso comercial internacional. Eles foram as atrações principais do Monterey Pop Festival (1967), Woodstock (1969), Altamont Free Concert (1969) e o primeiro Isle of Wight Festival (1968) na Inglaterra. Seu álbum de estreia de 1967, Surrealistic Pillow, foi uma das gravações mais significativas do Summer of Love.
