I use Em just because I prefer the sound of that chord. BTW... the Cadd9 variation I use for this is basically a G chord with your low E and A string fingers dropped down one string each. Don't assume that that the initial variation that's described as you hover over the chord is right. Have fun. It's a great tune. Also... there is only so much you can do with a strumming pattern, so it's missing the hammer-ons. You should hear them as you listen to the song, and be able to make the necessary alterations, but this pattern is close.
